Although this sounds like a great achievement, netizens seem to have a problem with it. Many highlighted that they have never worked in an organization or stepped inside a gender-unequal boardroom, so, speaking about the same thing on such a big platform is a bit strange.

There were many who commented on her Instagram post. One Instagram user wrote, “Seriously how is this girl getting these platforms to be recognized for doing nothing.” Another user wrote, “Lol. How????? Exposure Do you have to give your input on such a sensitive and burning topic. Don’t tell me you “researched” this.

I know there are employees/colleagues who are working tirelessly for this cause regardless of the PR stunt you just performed.

Take care of yourself and get well soon. I just want to ask you how can you ask a 25 year old person to speak on a topic with no working experience… You all are clearly a part of “Team Dilute the Topic”.

Woman entrepreneur named Shruti Jehangirdar claimed on Twitter that Navya has never worked in any organization

Amidst all these criticisms, a woman entrepreneur named Shruti Jehangirdar claimed on Twitter that Navya has never worked in any organization. In her tweet, she wrote, ‘To be absolutely clear. It’s not about their privilege. I believe that people of all ages, privileges and classes should speak up about gender equality. I have a problem with an organization matching the wrong person to the wrong thing and undermining a very important discussion.”

The entrepreneur further highlighted how she wished Navya would talk about gender equality on a topic other than women in the boardroom. “She doesn’t have the experience to comment on that.” Her tweet read.
