Nepal Plane Crash: Anju Khatiwada, the co-pilot of the tragic Yeti Airlines ATR-72 carrying 72 passengers, was seconds away from fulfilling her dream of becoming a captain when the plane crashed in Pokhara, Nepal. In sharp contrast to the fate of her late husband, Deepak Pokhrel, she lost her life and her aspirations just as they were about to come true.

All passengers dead after the Nepal Plane Crash
Anju served as the aircraft's co-pilot with senior Captain Kamal KC. On Sunday, an aircraft that was travelling between the previous domestic airport and Pokhra International Airport collided with a piece of wooded land along the banks of the Seti River. The trip took 27 minutes, and there were 72 passengers on board.
Five Indians were among the 68 passengers on board, according to Nepal's Yeti Airlines. According to a statement released by Yeti Airlines, 70 bodies have so far been recovered by Nepalese officials.

Co-Pilot Anju and her late husband's fate
On June 21, 2006, Anju lost her husband in an aircraft tragedy that claimed 16 lives. Coincidentally, her spouse also worked for Yeti Airlines as a co-pilot. A Yeti Airlines 9N AEQ plane that was travelling from Nepalganj to Jumla via Surkhet crashed, killing six passengers and four crew members, 16 years ago. The dead included Anju's spouse among the victims.
Anju Khativada, the co-pilot of the destroyed aircraft, was intended to make this her final trip. After her successful landing on Sunday, she was supposed to take over as captain.
Anju had flown with the senior pilot and her instructor, Kamal KC, in order to complete her flying hours and pass the captain's exam. A minimum of 100 hours of flying experience are required to become a pilot. Earlier, co-pilot Anju had made a flawless landing at practically every airport in Nepal.
