NPS: Investing in NPS Safer! Check What’s Two-Factor Authentication Feature That Comes Into Effect From 1 April

NPS

NPS: The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) is committed to keeping your National Pension System (NPS) investment safe. To achieve this, they regularly update the NPS guidelines. From April 1, 2024, a new security measure called Two-Factor Aadhaar Authentication will be implemented for logging into your NPS account.

What is Two-Factor Aadhaar Authentication?

Two-factor Aadhaar authentication adds an extra layer of security to your NPS login. In addition to your password, you will also need a one-time password (OTP) generated from your Aadhaar number to log in. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your NPS account.

Benefits of Two-Factor Aadhaar Authentication

How to Use Two-Factor Aadhaar Authentication

  1. Visit the NPS website: Go to the official NPS website.
  2. Login with PRAIN/IPIN: Click on the “Login with PRAIN/IPIN” option.
  3. Enter User ID and Password: In the new window, enter your User ID and password.
  4. Complete Captcha: Fill in the captcha code displayed.
  5. Aadhaar Authentication: You will see an option for “Aadhaar Authentication.” Enter your Aadhaar number here.
  6. Enter OTP: An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar registered mobile number. Enter this OTP to complete the login process.

Account Locking and Password Recovery

In case of repeated incorrect password entries, your NPS account may get locked after five consecutive failed attempts. If this happens, you’ll need to reset your password to unlock the account.
