Who is eligible for the PMMVY scheme?

All pregnant women and lactating mothers are eligible for the PMMVY scheme, except for those already employed by the government or receiving similar benefits under other schemes. The scheme also applies to pregnant women carrying their first child on or after January 1, 2017.

What are the benefits of the PMMVY scheme?

The PMMVY scheme provides a cash incentive of Rs. 5,000 in three installments:

  • First installment (Rs. 1,000): Upon early registration of pregnancy at an Anganwadi center or approved health facility.
  • Second installment (Rs. 2,000): After six months of pregnancy and completion of at least one antenatal checkup (ANC).
  • Third installment (Rs. 2,000): After childbirth registration and completion of the first round of vaccinations for the newborn.

Additionally, eligible beneficiaries can also receive the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) incentive for institutional delivery, bringing the total benefit amount to Rs. 6,000.

How to register for the PMMVY scheme?

Registration for the PMMVY scheme is simple and free. You can register at your nearest Anganwadi center or approved health facility.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Collect the application form (Form 1-A) from the Anganwadi center or download it from the website of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
  2. Fill out the form completely and submit it along with the required documents, including your Mother and Child Protection Card (MCP Card), proof of identity, and bank account details.
  3. You can also claim the remaining installments by submitting the designated forms (Form 1-B and Form 1-C) at the appropriate stages of your pregnancy and after childbirth.

Remember, you can apply for the PMMVY scheme anytime during your pregnancy, but not later than 730 days after conception.
