Public Participation in Water Conservation: Today in Surat, Gujarat, Union Minister for Jal Shakti, C. R. Patil, participated in the “Water Conservation – Public Participation – People’s Movement” program. Prior to the event, he had a pleasant and productive meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
The program aims to promote water conservation as a people’s movement, encouraging community involvement in addressing water scarcity. The meeting between the leaders underscored the importance of collaboration between states to tackle pressing water management issues.

At the event, Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil emphasized the critical need for water conservation in India, stressing that public participation is key to solving the country’s water crisis. He said, “Water conservation is not just the government’s responsibility; it’s a collective duty of every citizen. Together, we can make a significant impact.”
Gujarat CM Stresses on Innovative Solutions
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the state’s efforts in implementing innovative water-saving techniques and projects, such as rainwater harvesting and desalination plants. He also called for other states to adopt similar measures to secure their water future.
Rajasthan CM Discusses Inter-State Collaboration
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma spoke about the need for collaboration between states, particularly those facing acute water shortages. He praised Gujarat’s initiatives and expressed interest in sharing resources and knowledge to tackle water issues across regions.
