Punjab News: Bhagwant Mann’s Govt Allocates ₹7 Crore for Child Welfare Under Sponsorship Foster Care Scheme

In a significant move towards child welfare, the Punjab government has distributed ₹7 crore under the Sponsorship Foster Care Scheme, benefiting 4,000 children across the state. Each child will receive ₹4,000 per month to support their upbringing and education, ensuring a brighter future.

Government’s Commitment to Child Welfare

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, Punjab is actively working towards child protection and rehabilitation. The Project Jeevanjot, launched in July 2024, has already rescued 268 children from vulnerable situations.

Additionally, the government has announced the establishment of two new homes for destitute children in Gurdaspur and Malerkotla to provide shelter and care for those in need.

A Step Towards a Brighter Future

The Punjab government has reiterated its commitment to children’s rights, ensuring financial aid and protection for those in need. These efforts aim to empower underprivileged children, providing them with access to education, shelter, and a safe environment for growth.

With these initiatives, Punjab is setting a benchmark for child welfare programs, reinforcing its dedication to social justice and development.
