Punjab Police stated that since the launch of Yudh Nashian Virudh, a total of 40,410 drug smugglers have been arrested in the last 290 days. Officials said the campaign combines strict enforcement with preventive and awareness-based strategies to curb drug abuse at both supply and demand levels.

Focus on Enforcement and Awareness

Along with raids and arrests, Punjab Police is also running sustained awareness programmes to educate youth and communities about the dangers of drug addiction. The initiative aligns with the state government’s larger vision of ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’, focusing on rehabilitation, community participation and long-term social reform.
