The Punjab Police has completed 291 days of its intensive anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, continuing its statewide crackdown against drug trafficking and substance abuse. The mission remains focused on dismantling drug supply chains, strengthening prevention mechanisms and encouraging youth to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.
According to official data released by Punjab Police, raids were conducted at 278 locations across the state, leading to the arrest of 103 drug smugglers in a single day. These operations were carried out through coordinated search drives, targeted intelligence-based actions and sustained surveillance.
Punjab Police: Over 40,591 Arrests Since Launch of the Campaign
Punjab Police stated that a total of 40,591 drug smugglers have been arrested in the last 291 days under the Yudh Nashian Virudh mission. Officials said the figures highlight the scale and consistency of enforcement efforts aimed at breaking the drug network operating within and across state borders.
Focus on Enforcement, Prevention and Awareness
Alongside strict enforcement, the campaign also includes awareness programmes, community outreach and youth engagement initiatives. Punjab Police said the mission places equal emphasis on prevention and rehabilitation to ensure long-term impact against drug abuse.
Call for Public Cooperation
Reiterating its commitment to a ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’, Punjab Police appealed to citizens to actively support the mission by sharing information and participating in awareness efforts. Authorities said public cooperation is critical in eliminating drugs from society.
The police force affirmed that the campaign will continue with the same intensity in the coming days to ensure a safer and healthier Punjab.
