In a remarkable stride for public education, 474 students from government schools in Punjab have cleared the NEET UG 2025 examination, marking a significant milestone in the state’s education sector under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains.

The success story doesn’t stop here. Earlier this year, 265 students cleared JEE Mains, and 44 qualified for the highly prestigious JEE Advanced, further establishing that Punjab’s government school students are excelling in India’s most competitive exams.

Addressing the media on Sunday, Education Minister Harjot Bains expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments:

“The impressive performance of our students in competitive exams is a shining example of our government’s focus on quality education. These results reflect the relentless efforts of our students and the dedicated commitment of our teachers.”

A New Era in Public Education

This breakthrough reflects the broader transformation of Punjab’s government schools into centres of academic excellence. The Bhagwant Mann-led government has undertaken a series of reforms, including:

Modernization of classrooms with smart boards and digital aids

Free coaching for competitive exams like NEET and JEE

Enhanced teacher training programs to align with national standards

Digital learning tools and mentorship programs to bridge academic gaps

Empowering Students, Strengthening the Future

The education reforms have not only improved infrastructure but also boosted student confidence, especially among those from rural and economically weaker backgrounds. By offering resources that were once limited to private institutions, the state has ensured equity in opportunity.

With such initiatives, the Punjab government is rewriting the future of its students—proving that talent, when nurtured well, can rise above all odds, even in public schooling systems.

The record-breaking performance of these students stands as a testament to Punjab’s ongoing education revolution and paves the way for even greater achievements in the years to come.
