Sadhguru Tips: Are you worried that artificial intelligence might take over your job? Many people share this concern. Recently, spiritual leader Sadhguru spoke about the rise of AI, its effects on human work, and how we can adapt. He also shared insights on how to focus on creativity and unlock our true potential in a world where machines are doing more.
Sadhguru Tips: Spiritual Leader On People Losing Jobs To Artificial Intelligence
During a conversation with YouTuber Khalid Al Ameri in Dubai, Sadhguru discussed humanity’s future in the age of artificial intelligence. He said, “Artificial intelligence is a big piece. All the so-called intellectual work you’re doing (gathering data, building memory, analysing) machines will do that. And it’s good. People may worry about jobs, but you must lose your job if it’s mechanical. Like diggers lost their jobs when machines came.”
Sadhguru advises that this is an opportunity for humans to graduate to tasks that require true creativity and consciousness.
Focus On Human Potential, Not Fear
Sadhguru emphasised, “I’m not a motivated person. I’m just doing what’s needed. If it’s not needed, I’ll stop. I can sit here with my eyes closed till I fall dead. I have no compulsive need for action. I am essentially a super lazy person, but I’m active 18–20 hours a day, seven days a week.”
He believes the rise of AI will allow humans to move beyond survival and focus on meaningful work. He said, “A time will come when there will be a universal income. Nobody has to work for bread. Then human potential can truly find expression. My work is to increase that percentage of people who will do fantastic things, not waste life in idleness, addictions, or crime.”
Sadhguru Tips: Finding Happiness Beyond Work
Sadhguru also offered insights on happiness in an AI-driven world. “Human happiness doesn’t come from outside. All experience (pain, joy, misery, ecstasy) happens within you. If you tie your happiness to external conditions, you will be enslaved. I can teach you to make your very chemistry blissful, so you enjoy sun, rain, or snow the same way.”
He stressed that external events will never fully match our desires, but we can ensure that our inner life (our consciousness) happens the way we want. “External situations will never be 100% your way. But this one person (you) must happen your way. If not, you will live in anxiety and stress. That is the only problem people have.”
