Study Reveals Majority of Youth Overcome Gender Confusion by Adulthood, Elon Musk Says ‘Kids Need To be Protected’

Elon Musk

Elon Musk: A long-term study found that most youngsters who experience gender confusion eventually get over it by the time they are fully grown adults. Every three years, researchers in the Netherlands inquired about the gender preferences of almost 2,700 kids, following them from the age of 11 to their mid-20s. Elon Musk sharing the news on his X (Formally Twitter) wrote, “I’m cool with adults doing whatever they want, so long as it doesn’t harm others, but kids need to be protected at all costs”

Long-Term Trends

According to the research’s first findings, almost one in ten youngsters, or 11%, reported varied degrees of “gender non-contentedness.” However, at the age of 25, just 4 percent of respondents claimed to be unhappy with their gender “often” or “sometimes.”

Normalizing Identity Exploration

The researchers conclude, ‘The results of the current study might help adolescents to realize that it is normal to have some doubts about one’s identity and one’s gender identity during this age period and that this is also relatively common.’

It coincides with a sharp increase in transgender youngsters taking medication to change their gender in the US, a trend that opponents claim is due to a lack of challenge from parents and medical professionals.
