Weather Update April 21 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that several parts in the state of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan may witness intense heat waves throughout the day. The IMD also predicted that massive flashfloods are likely to hit the states of Assam and Meghalaya, causing waterlogging and violent thunderstorms.
Moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to be witnessed over South Chhattisgarh, Interior Karnataka, Northeast India, Odisha parts of Marathwada, Kashmir and South Central Maharashtra. Similar weather conditions are also likely at South-west Madhya Pradesh, central Maharashtra, Vidarbha, southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Kerala. Several parts of Maharashtra, Kerala and Gujarat are likely to witness intermittent rainfall, especially during early morning or late evening hours.
Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh Weather Update
Intense heat wave conditions are likely to be witnessed at Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Noida and Delhi. Gorakhpur, Noida, Firozabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Meerut, Bareilly, Agra, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Mathura, Rampur and Shahjahanpur are likely to experience similar weather conditions.

Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Agra, Barabanki, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi and Bahraich would witness temperatures well above normal.

Several parts in Eastern Rajasthan are likely to witness intense heat waves with an increase in maximum temperatures highly likely, causing distress to residents on the move.
Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir And Himachal Pradesh Weather Update
Chaukhutia, Dwarahat, Laksar, Lohaghat, Narendranagar, Purola, Joshimath, Karnaprayag, Berinag, Champawat, Augustmuni, Purola, Barkot, Sitarganj, Bageshwar, Ghumarwin, Jogindernagar, Sarkaghat, Palampur, Baijnath, Chamba, Bhaderwah, Doda, Gurez, Uri and Sopore are likely to experience pleasant weather with a slight possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall and snowfall in some regions.
