Weather Update December 24 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that isolated parts of Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, northern Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, northern Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and parts of northeast India are likely to witness intense cold conditions until December 27-28.
Weather Update December 24 2025: Dense Fog To Persist
Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, northern Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, northern Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab and parts of northeast India are likely to witness intense chilling conditions till December 27-28. Dense and thick fog is also expected to prevail during the early morning and late night hours.
Heavy, Fresh Snowfall
Heavy and fresh snowfall is likely in many parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Isolated places over Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad are also likely to receive fresh snowfall, disrupting the movement of vehicles and people.
Thunderstorms and lightning warnings have been issued for isolated parts in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. A rise in night temperatures and a dip in daytime temperatures are expected due to precipitation.
Dense fog in likely in parts of Bilaspur, Una and the Balh valley in Mandi district.
Weather Update December 24 2025: Delhi NCR
Winds are expected to blow from the northwest at speeds of up to 15 km per hour, increasing to around 20 km per hour by the afternoon.
Rajasthan
Parts of Rajasthan are expected to experience scattered to dense fog.
Other States
Minimum temperatures are likely to dip to between 5°C and 10°C at some locations at Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, eastern Rajasthan, northeast India, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Sikkim and central Maharashtra.
Dense to very dense fog is likely over Punjab until December 27, over Uttar Pradesh until December 28, and over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi from December 24 to 27.
