Weather Update December 7, 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that the combined effect of snow in the hills and cold winds sweeping down to the plains will result in tumbling temperatures across the entire North India. This will leave North and East India shivering through another biting spell.
IMD Warns of Zero-visibility Mornings
IMD said dense fog is likely to shroud Delhi NCR and parts of Uttarakhand, J&K, and Punjab, reducing visibility and impacting morning commutes.
Dense fog conditions are likely to prevail during early morning hours in parts of Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Mizoram from December 7 to 10, 2025.
North India Braces for Extreme Cold- Weather Update December 7, 2025
Cold wave conditions will continue to grip isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, northwest Jharkhand, and north interior Odisha on 7th December.
Delhi and Uttar Pradesh
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of cold wave conditions in many northern states, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, till December 7.
Haryana and North India
Isolated pockets of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh will witness severe cold wave conditions on December 7. Northern interior regions of Odisha and northwest Jharkhand will also face cold weather on these days. East Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are also likely to experience cold wave conditions on December 7.
The Met Office warned that north-eastern states may experience dense fog till December 10, along with some isolated pockets in Odisha and Himachal Pradesh.
Rainfall Warning – Weather Update December 7, 2025
Light to moderate rain or snowfall is expected in Jammu-Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Ladakh on December 8 and in Himachal Pradesh on December 7 as per weather update December 7, 2025. Uttarakhand will also experience similar weather on December 7 and 8.
