After Mamata Banerjee’s TMC, Uddhav Thackeray’s UBT, Focus Shifts To Akhilesh Yadav’s SP? Keshav Prasad Maurya Reveals BIG

UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya claimed 25-26 SP MPs are on the verge of defection, backed by BJP ally Om Prakash Rajbhar. Akhilesh Yadav dismissed the claims as BJP-engineered pressure tactics ahead of the 2027 polls.

Akhilesh Yadav: With Mamata Banerjee’s TMC and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) already battling internal turbulence within the INDIA bloc, political crosshairs have now shifted to Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya visited Kanpur on Wednesday and fired a bombshell claim that sent shockwaves through opposition circles.

“Around 25 to 26 SP MPs are in a position to break away from the party. However, the BJP is not engaged in any politics of engineering defections,” Maurya stated.

Maurya further alleged that the Samajwadi Party “is not being run by Akhilesh Yadav,” adding that as the 2027 elections approach, disgruntled MPs will leave on their own.

Ram Gopal Yadav’s Letter To Amit Shah Adds Fuel To The Fire

Maurya claimed that SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav — cousin of party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav — had submitted a letter to BJP leader Amit Shah. The allegation, if proven, would represent a stunning internal fracture within the SP’s own founding family circle.

BJP ally and SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar piled on further, claiming the “entire SP is sitting ready to join BJP.”

Key claims made by the BJP-NDA camp:

  • 25-26 SP MPs ready to defect before 2027 polls
  • Ram Gopal Yadav allegedly wrote to Amit Shah
  • SP currently holds 37 MPs in the Lok Sabha and 10 in the Rajya Sabha
  • BJP predicts a third consecutive term in UP in 2027

Akhilesh Fires Back: “Dana Aur Gana” Jibe

Akhilesh Yadav dismissed the claims as baseless propaganda, accusing the BJP of using fear and inducements to engineer defections. SP spokesperson Juhi Singh called Rajbhar a “turncoat” acting as a BJP mouthpiece. She alleged the BJP was using Rajbhar to divert attention from issues of corruption, unemployment, and examination controversies.

With the 2027 UP Assembly elections drawing closer, the war of words signals a high-stakes political battle ahead.
