The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has registered a significant victory in the District Council and Block Committee rural elections in Punjab, attributing the success to the people-centric policies of the Bhagwant Mann-led state government.
According to AAP Punjab, the party’s strong performance in the rural polls reflects public approval of governance initiatives that have directly benefited households, farmers and villages across the state. The party said voters rewarded tangible work carried out at the grassroots level.
Bhagwant Mann: Free Power and Strong Support to Farmers
AAP highlighted that the provision of 600 units of free electricity per household emerged as a key factor behind the electoral success. In addition, free and uninterrupted power supply for agriculture has provided major relief to farmers, reducing input costs and improving productivity.
Improved Irrigation and Rural Infrastructure
The party said that canal water reaching the tail-end areas has significantly strengthened irrigation coverage in rural Punjab. This, coupled with investments in link roads, has improved connectivity between villages and markets, boosting rural mobility and economic activity.
Public Facilities Near Homes
AAP also credited the expansion of public amenities closer to residential areas, ensuring easier access to essential services. The government’s focus on reducing bureaucratic hurdles in government offices has further improved citizen experience and service delivery.
Mandate for Pro-People Politics
Calling the election outcome a “clear mandate,” AAP Punjab said the results reaffirm public trust in governance focused on development, convenience and transparency. The party appealed to citizens to continue supporting policies aimed at public welfare and rural empowerment.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has consistently maintained that development must be visible at the ground level, and the rural election results, the party said, validate this approach.
