Hardeep Singh Puri: Rahul Gandhi Crossed All Boundaries Of Dignity And Decency By Calling A Proud Sikh ‘Traitor,’ Bittu Controversy Explained

The Reaction Of Hardeep Singh Puri

Hardeep Puri blasted Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. Puri remarked there cannot be any justification for an uncalled slur against a proud Sikh leader whose own grandfather Beant Singh (the former CM of Punjab from Congress was slained by terrorists.

Puri went on to recall the sacrifices made by Guru Sahibs and the Chaar Sahibzaade to protect the Hindu faith. Puri went on to blast the Congress for the desecration of the Amritsar Golden Temple (Sri Harmandir Sahib) in 1984.

Rahul Gandhi-Ravneet Singh Bittu Exchange Of Words

Ravneet Singh Bittu, the Minister of State for Railways and the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, was passing through the Indian Parliament’s Makar Dwar, passing by protesting members of parliament from the Congress Party.

This was when Rahul Gandhi termed Bittu as a ‘traitor’ that immediately drew a powerful response from Bittu. Gandhi asked his fellow partymen to watch the face of the traitor Bittu walking right by. The LoP also commented my traitor friend would come back to the Congress.

Bittu refused the handshake of Rahul Gandhi and termed Rahul as enemy of the nation. Bittu made it very clear that he does not want to be linked with people he considers hostile to India.

Bittu On Rahul Gandhi’s Traitor Remark

Bittu accused Rahul Gandhi of deeply insulting the sentiments of proud Sikhs and Punjabis of the country. The Minister added that it was the Gandhi family that was behind the slaughter of thousands of Punjabis and Sikhs, referring to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Bittu claimed his relationship with the leadership of Congress was cordial when he was with Congress but things changed dramatically after he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
