Iran Protests: The Indian Embassy in Iran has asked all nationals, including tourists, students, pilgrims and businesspersons, to leave the Islamic Republic using all possible means, including commercial flights.
On Tuesday, United States President Donald Trump took to social media platform Truth to call upon Iranian protestors to forcibly take over their institutions. Trump urged the protestors not to back down and added that help is on the way for millions of Iranians. Meanwhile, Russia has warned USA that any attempts to attack Iran would lead to World War 3.
Iran Protests-Urgent Advisory
The Indian Embassy has urged citizens in Iran to exercise extreme caution, keep identification and travel documents ready, monitor local developments, avoid protest areas and stay in constant touch with the Indian Embassy. The Embassy also urged those not registered with the Indian Embassy in Tehran to do so at the earliest. The Embassy has activated email support and helpline numbers for assistance to Indian citizens.

On January 5, the Ministry of External Affairs issued an urgent travel advisory urging Indian nationals to avoid non-essential travel to the Islamic Republic. Protests in Iran that started on 28 December 2025 that started off as a protest by shopkeepers against growing inflation and the fall of Iranian Rial against the United States dollar. Soon, the general public joined in and calls for the end of Khamenei regime were made.
Present-Day Situation in Iran
Presently, a nationwide communications blackout has been imposed in Iran. People living in Iran cannot make international calls or access Internet after the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei decided to go hard on the Iranian protestors.
The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency reported that the death toll in the Islamic Republic was at least 2,571.
