Mamata Banerjee: West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerje has blasted the Bhartiaya Janata Party (BJP) of violating the model code of conduct (MCC) that is presently in force for the state of West Bengal.
Mamata claimed that the BJP launched the “Matrishakti Bharosa Card” that promises a monthly assistance scheme for women.

The West Bengal CM commented that the BJP has violated the MCC of the Election Commission of India. The Trinamool Congress supremo remarked that Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, launched the card herself and the ECI must take steps against her.

Under the card, women in the state of West Bengal would receive a monthly entitlement of Rs. 3000 if BJP is voted to power. Launched by Suvendu Adhikari, Bengal’s leader of the Opposition, and former BJP minister Smriti Irani, the card offers the double of what Lakshmir Bhandar, the Trinamool government’s flagship scheme, offers.

Mamata Banerjee also claimed that her state government would ensure that the names of all 32 lakh people would be restored back to the electoral rolls if she is voted back to power.
EC Dared Over ‘Selective’ Checks
While campaigning for her party’s candidates, Mamata also said that the state government under her leadership had reopened several tea estates and provided free houses and land rights to tea workers while also revising their wages.
Mamata also urged the allegedly compromised Election Commission to extend its zealous vehicular inspection drive to Union home minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well. Mamata revealed her own vehicle was specifically targeted by central forces earlier in the day near the Kolkata Airport.
Trinamool leadership has released several WhatsApp screenshots in which the ECI has instructed surveillance teams to inspect the vehicles of state ministers, including Trinamool leader Abhishek Banerjee and his family, specifically his wife Rujira Narula, to intensive scrutiny.
