IAS Awanish Sharan: Virat Kohli, the star batsman for India, recently scored an amazing 82 runs against Pakistan. India’s first victory in the current T20 World Cup in Melbourne was made possible by the 33-year-old batter’s outstanding performance. Virat received numerous compliments and a tremendous amount of respect from people all over the world.
Given the influence Virat Kohli has had on Indian cricket fans and the nation at large, IAS Officer Mr. Awanish Sharan identified five very important lessons from Kohli’s performance in India’s historic victory.

#2 “सिर्फ़ अपने परफ़ॉर्मेंस से ही जवाब दिया जा सकता” (Respond to your critics only through your performance)
#3 “अंतिम समय तक अपनी भावनाओं पर नियंत्रण रखना” (Control your emotions till the last minute)
#4 “लोगों की याददाश्त बहुत छोटी होती है” (People don’t remember for a long time)
#5 “जब आत्मविश्वास बढ़ता है तो कठिन परिस्थिति भी आसान लगती है” (Growing self-confidence makes even the most challenging situations appear simple)

These five factors are important since, just a few months ago, Virat Kohli’s form and consistency were heavily criticised by cricket analysts worldwide. However, after his magnificent performance against Pakistan, the same cricket community is bowing down itself before the king.
Furthermore, it was noteworthy that Kohli never turned to his critics or any verbal criticism during his difficult period. But he publicly cherished the people who stood with him.
