Aditi Ashok shares Tokyo 2020 journey, says ‘probably the most disheartened I’ve ever been’

New Delhi: Indian golfer, Aditi Ashok who is the youngest golfer to play the sports at the Olympics, missed the Bronze medal in the Olympics Games’ golf competition, by finishing at the fourth position. On Friday, August 6, she completed round three at the Silver medal position.

Aditi was the silver meal position after 54 holes as the world has noticed her with as many as 15 birdies in the first three rounds.
With Japan’s Mone Inami coming up with a near-perfect performances on the final day, Aditi alipped from 2nd to 4th.

Aditi thanked the volunteers, the staff at the Kasumigaseki Country Club for their hospitality and to the audience in her recent tweets. She also expressed sadness on the social media for not winning the bronze.

Aditi tweetet, “Leaving Tokyo with bittersweet memories. This is probably the most disheartened I have ever been after finishing 4th in a golf tournament. I tried my best till the very end but golf is like that sometimes. You don’t always get what you deserve, but you do get what you work for.”

“Thanks to all those who watched me play and showed their support especially from my home country. No words can express the gratitude feel towards everybody who woke up early to watch me play. I hope everybody who watched golf for the first time enjoyed it ,” said Aditi in another tweet.

She tweeted, “Thanks to all the volunteers at this mega event especially with Covid-19 protocols. Thanks also to the staff at Kasumigaseki Country Club for their hospitality. They gave us the course in great shape with immaculate greens which made my putting even better all week #tokyo2020.”
