Sourav Ganguly: Sourav Ganguly was all business in the latest interaction during the Star Sports show ‘Follow The Blues.’ Sourav Ganguly was without any filter during the conversation and stated how he thinks India should perform to win Knockout Stages.

India recently suffered a 209 runs-heavy defeat against Australia in WTC 2023 Final. It was India’s 9th continuous loss in ICC knockout stages and fourth in the finals. Sourav Ganguly also stated that this team could do so much more if they played in the right manner.

Need Aggression With Performance

Sourav Ganguly stated that lone aggression won’t win you matches. You need to perform with aggression to win matches. He further acknowledged the changed nature of test cricket and pitches in recent years but still focused on what should be done.

Ganguly further stated that India used to score 500-600 on the same venues a few years back, and that used to push opponents back. “India will have to see that they score 350-400 runs in the first innings in Test cricket,” BCCI President added.

The team does not lack belief

Sourav Ganguly further stated that he does not think this team is timid or lacks belief. He thinks that this team is more than capable of winning anywhere in the world.

I don’t agree that this team does not have the belief. We played well in England in 2021, and before that, we played good cricket in Australia in 2020-21, where Rishabh Pant won us the series on the last day; I feel that happens with belief only.”

Ganguly further stated that the workload and traveling schedule definitely affect the players. He trusts the player to regroup and perform well in the upcoming Asia Cup and World Cup 2023.
