Anderson becomes most-capped English Test cricketer

England fast bowler James Anderson has now added another feather in his cap as the paceman becomes the most Test-capped player for the English team. Anderson has surpassed former English captain Alastair Cook’s 161 Test stint. This is Anderson’s 162nd Test match for England.

So far taken 616 wickets in Test cricket. This fast bowler has done the feat of taking 10 wickets in a match 3 times. Whereas 30 times he has taken five wickets in Tests.

England captain Joe Root won the toss and decided to bat first in the second Test against New Zealand.
This is the last and second test match of the series between England and New Zealand. The earlier Test played between the two teams was a draw. Both the teams would like to register a win in this match at any cost.

New Zealand’s regular captain Kane Williamson is out of this match due to injury. In his place, Tom Latham is commanding New Zealand. New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman BJ Watling has also been ruled out of this match just before the toss due to injury.
