Arsenal sign Martin Odegaard on Permanent deal

Arsenal have signed Norway’s Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on a permanent deal.

The attacking midfielder had joined the club after spending the second half of the last season on loan with them. He scored two goals in his 20 appearances.

“Odegaard will wear the No. 8 shirt in Arsenal. He will be unavailable for Arsenal’s Premier League clash with London rivals Chelsea on Sunday, awaiting visa clearance,” said the club in a statement.

“I feel like I’ve come here to settle down, stay for a while and achieve a lot of good things. I’m really motivated to get this club back where it belongs. I really believe that we can achieve something great here,” said Odegaard.

Odegaard has also made 30 appearances for Norway. He made his international debut in August 2014, becoming the youngest player to represent his country’s senior national team at the age of just 15 years and 253 days.
