Asia Cup 2023: Pakistan got knocked out of the continental competition in a dramatic fashion. A last-ball thriller resulted in defending champion Sri Lanka knocking out Pakistan and qualifying for the finals.

It was a disappointing performance and lackluster captaincy from Babar Azam alongside some serious injuries that led to this. But getting knocked out of the tournament had some serious consequences for Pakistan other than not being able to play in the finals.

They were the Number 1 ODI team before the start of the tournament but have fallen down the ranks massively. The Green Brigade looked like one of the best teams while entering the tournament but is leaving it with loads of troubles and ranking might be the least of their concerns.

India Overtakes Pakistan In Rankings

Pakistan entered the Asia Cup 2023 as the number 1 ranked team but has now fallen down to Number 3. Their exit has impacted them a few ranking points and they have 115 rating points.

Australia is now the number 1 ranked team with 118 points while India has risen to the second with 116 ratings. India will get more rating points if they win the finals of the Asia Cup 2023.

While the Green Brigade has fallen down the rankings they can fall down even further down as England are on the verge of winning against New Zealand.

Disastrous Asia Cup 2023

Pakistan had a very disastrous Asia Cup in 2023. They lost against India by 228 runs and then lost to Sri Lanka on the last delivery. The loss to India affected them massively and injuries to their few best players will also affect them.
