Asian Games 2023: Brij Bhushan and Wrestlers Slam The Exemption In Trials; Will Hurt The Sport In The Country; Watch Here

Asian Games 2023: Just one day after wrestler Antim Panghal posted a video slamming IOA's decision of exempting Bajrang and Vinesh from trials, a new video of Brij Bhushan doing the same has also come out.

Brij Bhushan is the chief of the Wrestling Federation of India and has been accused of sexual harassment by six female wrestlers. The WFI Chief came out and slammed IOA and their decision to exempt players from trials.

Earlier this week, Vinesh Phogar and Bajrang Punia were given direct entries for Asian Games. While either wrestlers have to take part in trials on July 22 and July 23. And this decision by the Indian Olympic Association was heavily criticized.

PTI reported that several junior wrestlers reach the IO headquarters earlier today. They were not alone as they were accompanied by their parents and coaches as everyone demanded fair Asian Games Trials.

What Is So Special About Her?

Yesterday, reigning Under-20 World Champion Antim Panghal slammed IOA and questioned their decision. She asked why Vineet got direct entry without even practicing for a year. Panghal also highlighted that Phogat does not have any achievements in the last year.

The 19-year-old stated that she won a gold medal last year in Junior World Championship and even won a silver in the 2023 Asian Championship. She also highlighted Sakshi Malik's gold medal in Olympics.

The Junior champion also stated that not only her, many other wrestlers can beat Phogat. She urged the IOA to organise a fair trial for Asian Games 2023.

Asian Games 2023 Trials Will Affect The Sport

The WFI chief stated that Wrestling is the only sport in India where an olympic medal is guaranteed. And the decision by IOA is an unfortunate one. He further stated that it will hurt the sport of wrestling in the country.
