Auqib Nabi Dar: Baramulla Express Touted To Be The Next Big Thing On Indian Cricket Stage! Is Tour Of England Calling?

Auqib Nabi Dar: Nabi bagged 44 scalps in the 2024-25 Ranji season at an average of just under 14. Nabi was picked up by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 8.40 crore during the last IPL auctions. Speculations have now emerged whether Nabi would feature in the upcoming ODI and T20 match series against England in England or the next test matches against New Zealand and South Africa.

Auqib Nabi Dar-The Man, The Machine

From the dusty playfields of Baramulla’s Sheeri village to the final of the elite Ranji Trophy 2026, Nabi has rose through the ranks to bring the Ranji Trophy to the state of Jammu & Kashmir, ending a long wait of 67 years.

The final match against Karanataka was held in Hubballi and ended in a draw. However, J&K were crowned the trophy champions because of their decisive 291-run first-inning lead over Karnataka, the eight-time champions.

Final Match Heroics

Auqib Nabi bagged 5 wickets for 54 runs in his 23 overs in the final, dismantling the middle order of Karnataka. Nabi deservingly received the player of the series award for bagging a staggering 55 wickets in just 8 matches.

Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah went in all praises for the team and announced a cash reward of Rs 2 crore for the players and support staff. According to the CM Office, the players would now be eligible for state government jobs under the new rules & regulations for outstanding sportspersons.
