AUS VS PAK ICC World Cup 2023: It was a forgetful day for Haris Rauf with the ball on Friday. In the group stage match against Australia, Haris Rauf recorded one of the worst figures of his career.
He redeemed himself a little bit at the end after taking 3 wickets, but the runs never stopped. The Aussies took him to the cleaners whenever they got the chance. They were brutal against him.
Especially, Mitchell Marsh and David Warner, who started attacking him from the first delivery. Which resulted in Rauf registering a stat that he would like to forget as soon as possible.
Most Expensive Over
Haris Rauf bowled his most expensive over yet. Not only that, he also registered the third most expensive over by a Pakistan bowler in the World Cup. He is now behind Abdul Razzaq and Shoaib Akhtar.
Both Akhtar and Razzaq were hit for 30 and 28 runs simultaneously against New Zealand in the 2011 edition of the World Cup. A weird coincidence is that the three most expensive overs by Pakistan bowlers in the World Cup were bowled in India only.
Rauf conceded 24 runs in the first over. David Warner scored 11 runs in the first three while Marsh scored three consecutive boundaries in the last three deliveries with one wide making up these figures.
Forgetful AUS VS PAK ICC World Cup 2023 Outing
It was a forgetful outing for Haris Rauf against Australia. The rapid pacer conceded 83 runs in just 8 overs. He took 3 wickets with David Warner being one of them, but these figures were really underwhelming.
Rauf had an economy of 10.38 by the end and did not even bowled his regulatory 10 overs in the match. A night that he would like to forget at all costs.
