Australian Open 2023: In the women's singles match at the Australian Open in 2023, Aryna Sabalenka defeated Magda Linette in straight sets to set up a championship match with Elena Rybakina. At Melbourne Park's Rod Laver Arena, Aryna Sabalenka defeated Magda Linette 7-6 (1) to win the opening set. Prior to a strong comeback, the Belarusian lost the first two games. Sabalenka dominated the tie-breaker to win the set 7-1 after it was tied at 6-6. Sabalenka won the second set 6-2 after twice breaking Linette's serve to take control of the match.

Sabalenka triumphed in 10 straight matches in 2023,

Sabalenka, who just took home the Adelaide International 1 title, has now triumphed in 10 straight matches in 2023, including a career-high 20 straight sets.In addition, the Belarusian superstar ended her Grand Slam semi-final losing streak to Iga Swiatek at the US Open 2022, Leylah Fernandez at the US Open 2021, and Karolina Pliskova at Wimbledon 2021. By breaking the spell, Sabalenka joined Gabriela Sabatini, Zina Garrison, Lindsay Davenport, and Jennifer Capriati as the fifth player in the Open Era to advance to a major final following three or more semi-final defeats.

Sabalenka and Rybakina will square off

In the Australian Open 2023 final, Sabalenka and Rybakina will square off, and interestingly, Sabalenka will be the favourite because she has triumphed in each of their previous three meetings: Wuhan 2019, Abu Dhabi 2021, and Wimbledon 2021.Before Sabalenka gained momentum in the opening set, Poland's Linette jumped out to a 2-0 lead. In the first set, where the two were neck-and-neck, Sabalenka broke back for 2-2. In the unpredictable set, Linette levelled the score at 5-6 to force a tie-break, which Sabalenka easily won 7-6.
