Australian Open: Former World No.1 Ashleigh Barty has made a surprise appearance at the Melbourne Park to give away Daphne Akhurst Memorial Trophy ahead of the of Australian Open final. Barty who won the tournament last year and announced her shocking retirement months layer received a rousing standing ovation from the crowd.

With Sabalenka, taking the court to finish off the match, she got emotional while walking to the court to receive the trophy. After winning on her fourth match point, Sabalenka fell to the court in celebration when Rybakina overhit a forehand long.
