Bangladesh players will not participate in second phase of IPL 2021

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally managed to find a suitable window to host the remaining matches of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

After the BCCI Special General Meeting (SGM), it was announced that the remaining matches will be held in the UAE. Cricket fans are still waiting for the announcement of dates.

According to media reports, the Indian board can organize the tournament in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 19 September to 10 October just before the ICC T20 World Cup. IPL 2021 was postponed on May 4, after several players tested positive for COVID-19.

After hosting India for a five-match Test tour, England have to tour Bangladesh and Pakistan for a limited overs series. Now, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also made it clear that they will not provide NOC to Bangladesh players to participate in IPL. In such a situation, Bangladeshi players Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman will not be available for the second phase of IPL 2021.

So far 29 matches out of 60 have been organized. However, during the remaining matches of the IPL in the UAE, some franchises may miss their key players.
