BBL 2022-23: Aaron Finch has excelled after Steve Smith's achievement in the Big Bash League. In the BBL encounter, Kangaroo bowler Andrew Tye was so thoroughly beaten by Aaron Fitch that his over went on for the biggest-ever in the tournament's history. This breathtaking spell was indeed there during the Perth Scorchers vs. Melbourne Renegades game. In the game, team's star batsman Aaron Finch blasted three sixes in a row. He scored 31 runs in all throughout the over.

Aaron Finch goes all gun blazing

While batting first, the Perth side totalled 212 runs in the allotted 20 overs while losing five wickets. 95 runs were scored off 50 balls during Cameron Bancroft's ferocious inning. But he was only 5 runs short of his century. He arrived back in the dugout unbeaten after the overs were finished. The Melbourne team in return could score only 202 runs and fell short by 8 runs.

Defending the target, Andrew Tye bowled the 18th over. In order to win, Finch's Melbourne Renegades needed 68 runs off the final 18 balls. The match appeared to be completely under Perth's grip by then. Finch scored two sixes off the following two balls after taking a double on the first -one. After that, once more on the fourth ball, he scored two runs and hit a six.

Shaun Marsh, who batted first, scored 54 runs in 34 balls. Unbeaten 76 points off 35 balls were scored by captain Aaron Finch. Fitch had a strike rate of 217 in his innings, scoring seven fours and five sixes.
