Ben McDermott, the team’s best batter, played a shot that resulted in the ball falling in no man’s land during spin bowler Mitchell Swepson’s eighth over of batting and bowling for the Hobart Hurricanes. Marnus Labuschagne, however, jumped while sprinting toward the ball and took a superb catch that even the batsman was stunned to see. Immediately after making the catch, Marnus Labuschagne stood up and celebrated by launching the ball into the air.

The 55th BBL game was played today, and after winning the toss, the Brisbane Heat team elected to bowl first. The Hobart Hurricanes team decided to bat first, but they could only score 120/9 runs in their 20 overs. While attempting to reach the target, the Brisbane Heat team struggled mightily while batting. Despite playing all 20 overs, the team could only muster 118/8, losing the game by two runs. Nathan Ellis, a bowler for the Hobart Hurricanes team, received the game’s man of the match award.
