BBL 2022-23: Michael Neser's stunning catch across boundary ropes divides netizens, watch video to decide

BBL 2022-23: Fans of the Big Bash League (BBL) are rarely let down because it always promises excitement and entertainment. A stunning catch by Michael Neser during a recent BBL 2022–23 game between the Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers split Twitter.

Michael Neser takes a stunning catch near ropes

Ultimately, the Heat won the game by a score of 15 runs, but Neser's outstanding catch completely changed the course of the game. The incident happened in the last over of the Sixers' enormous 225-run pursuit. Jordan Silk was dismissed by Neser for 41 runs while attempting to clear the fence; the latter was declared out as a result of the former's athletic performances close to the rope.

Silk's stroke, which featured three boundaries and two sixes, was cut short by Neser's fast efforts. After taking the catch, the fielder launched the ball into the air, but he was losing momentum as he did so. Before returning inside the rope to complete the catch inside the play area, Neser crossed the boundary rope once more while juggling the ball in the air.

The attempt of Neser's catch quickly went viral on social media, dividing supporters among those who praised the player for his athleticism and those who questioned the regulations.

As per the rules, “A fielder who is not in contact with the ground is considered to be grounded beyond the boundary if his/her final contact with the ground, before his/her first contact with the ball after it has been delivered by the bowler, was not entirely within the boundary."
