Bhagwani Devi: 94-Year-Old Wins Gold in World Masters Athletics, grandmother-grandson duo to bring more laurels

Bhagwani Devi: India’s 94-year-old Bhagwani Devi has proved that age is no bar! (Yes, That’s Right!) she was able to prove this, by performing exceptionally at the World Masters Athletics Championships 2022 held in Finland and won not just one gold in 100m sprint but two bronze in Shot put as well. The best part was, that she was able to secure gold in the 100m sprint with a timing of 24.74 seconds.

About Bhagwani Devi Dagar and her Grandson

Bhagwani Devi, an inspiration for many is a native of Khidka in Haryana. And it’s not just her, who is actively involved in sports (that to at this age!) but her grandson Vikas Dagar is an international para-athlete and the never give up attitude is what motivates the Dagar grandmother and grandson duo to bring more laurels to the country. Vikas even accompanied his grandmother to this competition.

Past achievements

Bhagwani Devi has won three gold medals at the National Masters Athletics heals in Chennai this year and also made a mark at the Delhi State Athletics Championships in the 100m category after she bagged three gold medals.
Well, it won’t be wrong to say that The World is At Her Feet! And is an inspiration for not only the sportspersons out there by the youth of our nation as well!
