He stated that the bull races are being conducted with proper safeguards to ensure the animals’ safety and well-being, emphasizing that no cruelty is involved. The Chief Minister described the animals as being raised like family members by their owners and said the events are being organized under regulated conditions.

Urges Public Participation

Mann appealed to people across Punjab and sports enthusiasts to participate actively in what is popularly known as the “Rural Olympics,” and to encourage athletes taking part. He highlighted that such initiatives play an important role in connecting the younger generation with Punjab’s traditions, culture, and rural identity.

Officials added that the state government is making consistent efforts to preserve folk sports and revive heritage events that showcase local talent, physical endurance, and community bonding. The administration believes that restoring these games not only strengthens cultural pride but also boosts tourism and rural engagement across the state.

Organisers noted that extensive arrangements have been made to ensure smooth conduct of the event, including crowd management, medical facilities, and security deployment. Local authorities and volunteers have been stationed across the venue to assist participants and visitors, reflecting the administration’s focus on safety alongside celebration.

The revived festival features a wide range of traditional competitions such as tug of war, kabaddi, athletics, animal shows, and rural skill displays, which attract athletes from different districts. Many participants see the event as an opportunity to showcase their strength, agility, and talent on a prominent platform that celebrates grassroots sports rather than modern stadium-based competitions.
