The incident prompted the India captain to receive attention from the team’s physiotherapist, after which he resumed his practice. However, Rohit chose not to continue batting, leading to understandable concern among fans. However, he was later also spotted walking on the ground.

Rohit Sharma sustains thumb injury
During the optional practice session held on the eve of the match, Rohit Sharma encountered an unfortunate incident. While facing a throwdown in the nets, the talented right-handed batsman was struck on his left thumb. Interestingly, just a few days prior to the final, Rohit was seen wearing a bandage on his right arm, and now he has endured an impact on his thumb.
An update regarding Rohit’s availability for the upcoming fixture is expected to be revealed within the next few hours, as Team India continues its net session at The Oval. Since it is an optional practice session, not all players may be participating. The Indian team will be hoping for Rohit’s fitness as he plays a crucial role in the squad. The experienced player showcased his skills during India’s previous tour of England, accumulating 368 runs, the highest among the visiting team, with an impressive average of 52.57. Rohit is slated to open the innings alongside Shubman Gill.

Earlier, during a conversation with media, Rohit had said “Pitch and condition keep changing. Message for all the boys is that they should be ready. We will see tomorrow and will decide who will play. I have gotten the job to take the Indian cricket forward and win as many games and championships as possible.
