BCCI had terminated Clarke’s contract

The move follows the removal of Michael Clarke from the commentary team after his contract with the BCCI was terminated due to a video of an altercation with his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough that circulated on social media during their holiday in Noosa, Queensland. Rumours of Clarke’s potential reconciliation with ex-girlfriend Pip Edwards during his visit to the subcontinent also contributed to the debate.

For further tests in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, Mitchell Johnson will be replaced by Mark Waugh for the third and fourth Tests as the latter will be seen taking on commentary responsibilities in the ODI series that comes after the red-ball assignments. According to reports, during the 50-over series, Johnson would be joined by fellow Australian and recently retired ODI captain Aaron Finch, who presently leads the Melbourne Renegades in the BBL.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has given the 2015 World Cup winning captain a commentary job for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) (PCB). On his radio programme, Clarke highlighted the interest from India’s worst adversaries. The PSL will take place concurrently with Australia’s tour of India, which ends on March 22.
