Cricket Viral Video: In November 2021, during the second T20I match between Bangladesh and Pakistan in Mirpur, Shaheen Afridi made a powerful throw that hit Bangladesh batter, Afif Hossain, causing him to fall and need medical attention. The action was criticised by many as it was not needed at all.

Shaheen Afridi throws ball at batsman

After getting opener Saif Hassan out in the first over, Afridi bowled the third over and was hit for a six by Hossain on the second delivery. On the following delivery, Hossain returned the ball to Afridi, who threw it back at him.

Hossain, who had not stepped out of his crease, was hit by the throw on his foot as he tried to dodge it. He fell to the ground in pain, and the Pakistan players gathered around him in concern. Shaheen also approached Hossain, putting his hand on his helmet to check on him. However, after being treated by the team physio, Hossain was cleared to continue playing.

Previously, James Pattinson received a one-match suspension from Cricket Australia for an altercation that took place during a Sheffield Shield game. He was accused of throwing the ball at Daniel Hughes. In addition to the ban, Pattinson was fined the full amount of his match fee. This situation was similar to Shaheen’s incident, as both bowlers hit a batter in the crease with a throw on their foot.
