He hit 11 fours and 8 sixes in his innings, with several of them being absolute belters that went out of the ground. Stokes was dropped by Marcus Harris on 116, which proved to be a costly mistake for the Australians. He kept his nerve even as wickets fell at the other end, and in the end, he single-handedly led England to a remarkable victory.
The century that Ben Stokes hit in Headingley in 2019 will be remembered as one of the finest in the history of the game. It was an inning that was played under immense pressure, against one of the best bowling attacks in the world, and Stokes rose to the occasion in spectacular fashion. He made his knock in 219 balls.
