Cricket Viral Video: During the 1996 match at Edgbaston, Shaun Pollock achieved a remarkable feat by becoming only the second bowler in List A cricket history to claim four wickets in four consecutive deliveries. This feat is rare with such magical bowling happening just once in decades. The video of Shaun Pollock's memorable spell is now once again going viral on internet.
Allan Donald, renowned for his exceptional career with Warwickshire between 1987 and 2000, decided to take a sabbatical season in 1996. During this period, he made the unconventional choice of representing Rishton in the Lancashire League while simultaneously serving as the bowling and physical fitness coach for Warwickshire. As a result, Warwickshire sought a formidable replacement in a 23-year-old rising star Shaun Pollock, who was in his first year of international cricket.
Pollock made his debut in the Benson & Hedges Cup against Leicestershire, with Warwickshire captain Dermot Reeve electing to field first and entrusting Pollock with the opening over ahead of Dougie Brown. In an eventful second over, Pollock delivered a bouncer that led to Vince Wells mistiming his hook and being caught at extra cover. Ben Smith and Greg Macmillan struggled to handle Pollock's bowling prowess, resulting in the score standing at a mere 9-1 after six overs.
Pollock struck again in the second ball of his fourth over, though subsequent replays indicated that the ball may have brushed Macmillan's elbow before reaching Reeve at first slip. The following ball deceived James Whitaker, Leicestershire's newly appointed captain, as it swung into him, hitting the stumps off his pad. Pollock cleverly varied his length for the next delivery, causing Peter Robinson to be caught at short leg. With this wicket, Pollock achieved a hat-trick, but his astounding performance did not end there.
In an astonishing display of skill, Pollock proceeded to have Darren Maddy caught at third slip with the very next ball. At this stage, Leicestershire found themselves reeling at 9-5, and Pollock's figures stood at an impressive 3.5-2-1-5.

Notably, Pollock became only the second bowler in the history of this format to take four wickets in four consecutive deliveries, following Alan Ward of Derbyshire, who achieved the feat against Sussex in 1970. Subsequently, several other cricketers have joined the exclusive list of players who have achieved the remarkable feat of taking four wickets in four consecutive balls in List A cricket. Among them are Vasbert Drakes, Lasith Malinga (in an ODI), Graham Napier, Shrikant Mundhe, and Mashrafe Mortaza.
