Cricket Viral Video: In one of the most remarkable bowling performances in cricket history, Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath produced a sensational 8-wicket haul against Pakistan at the WACA in 2004. The match took place from 16th to 19th December as part of the Test series between the two teams. It is also the best-ever spell by the legendary bowler.
In the Perth Test of 2004, Pakistan experienced the dominance of McGrath firsthand. With remarkable figures of 8 for 24, McGrath played a pivotal role in Australia's resounding victory by 491 runs. Pakistan's batting crumbled under his relentless attack as McGrath claimed seven consecutive wickets before being denied a perfect 10 by Michael Kasprowicz, who dismissed Mohammad Sami.
McGrath's devastating spell began on the first day of the Test match when he took the wickets of Yasir Hameed, Yousuf Youhana (now Mohammad Yousuf), and Faisal Iqbal in quick succession. On the second day, McGrath continued his dominance by dismissing Younis Khan and Imran Farhat early in their innings. The Pakistani batsmen struggled to handle his pace and precision. In the second innings, McGrath once again unleashed his lethal bowling skills, taking the wickets of Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Akhtar, and Danish Kaneria to complete his remarkable 8-wicket haul.
McGrath's extraordinary performance played a crucial role in Australia's comprehensive victory in the Test match. His precision and control over line and length were unmatched, leaving the Pakistani batsmen in a state of despair. The 8-wicket haul not only showcased McGrath's supreme skill and dominance but also cemented his status as one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time.
