Cricket Viral Video: During a 1995 Australia v Australia A match, Matthew Hayden and Glenn McGrath, integral figures in Australia's triumphs during the 1990s and 2000s, found themselves in a heated confrontation at the mid-pitch.
Prior to solidifying his place in the Australian team, Matthew Hayden represented Australia A in the Benson & Hedges World Series 1995. In the final match, he opened the batting against a formidable Australia side, where he faced the Glenn McGrath, who would later become his teammate. During the 17th over of the innings, Hayden executed his characteristic slap shot to a delivery from McGrath, sending the ball past the point and towards the boundary. As the ball raced away and Hayden completed the run, he inadvertently made contact with the "corner of his [McGrath's] arm."
The cameras captured the scene as the two players engaged in a physical battle, pushing and exchanging words. McGrath, clearly angry, used his right arm to push Hayden. McGrath then retreated to his bowling run-up, maintaining his anger and muttering to the umpire as he passed by. Upon reviewing the incident, it appeared that Hayden might have deliberately brushed against McGrath's elbow, although Hayden later acknowledged that he hadn't seen the elbow and believed that McGrath had intentionally extended his arm at that moment.
