Cricket Viral Video: While Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis were in the midst of constructing a formidable 377-run partnership that ultimately led to a decisive victory, an amusing incident unfolded during the 2012 Oval Test between England and South Africa.
The opening Investec Test between England and South Africa delivered an exhilarating contest. Nonetheless, a comical episode took place on the third day of the Test match. In the 121st over, Graeme Swann was introduced into the bowling attack with Jacques Kallis on strike. With Andrew Strauss stationed at the short-midwicket position, Jacques Kallis, then batting at 51, promptly seized a single.
While serving as the England Test captain at that time, Andrew Strauss, with sunglasses kept atop his floppy cap, faced an amusing mishap. When he fielded the ball at midwicket and released his throw, the sunglasses slid forward, and the impact of the ball destroyed their frames. This incident left Strauss's teammates in laughter, as the ball had come remarkably close to hitting the sunglasses.
Strauss later labeled this incident as the most embarrassing one he had experienced on a cricket field.
Despite South Africa's resounding victory by an innings and 12 runs, England had little else to find humor in. Speaking of runs, Kallis amassed 182 runs, while Hashim Amla achieved a remarkable triple century. South Africa amassed a commanding 637 runs on the scoreboard, with both batsmen remaining unbeaten. Thanks to his exceptional triple century, which played a pivotal role in South Africa's elegant triumph, Hashim Amla was rightfully named the man of the match.
