Cricket Viral Video: When it comes to naming India’s finest fielders who bring a light-hearted presence to the field, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja would certainly be among the top choices. As teammates for both India and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), they have shared numerous cricketing moments and are renowned for their cool on-field demeanour. However, there was an exceptional occurrence where, in a stark departure from their usual composed personalities, the duo found themselves in a heated exchange, displaying visible anger towards each other.
Jadeja & Raina’s clash on-field
The incident dates back to 2013 during a tri-series held in the Caribbean, with Sri Lanka being the third participating team. In a second-round match against the host team West Indies, India found themselves defending a DLS-adjusted score of 273 due to weather interruptions. India had a disappointing beginning to the series, suffering comprehensive defeats in their first two matches.
Adding to their challenges, regular captain Dhoni was sidelined due to a hamstring injury when they faced the West Indies in a crucial match that required a victory. Consequently, in Dhoni’s absence, Virat Kohli had the opportunity to lead the Indian team for the very first time. Despite Kohli’s successful debut as India’s stand-in captain, the attention was overshadowed by the infamous altercation between Raina and Jadeja, diverting the spotlight from India’s impressive 102-run victory (DLS method).
After a breakthrough wicket, while the Indian fielders took a moment to hydrate with their sippers, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja were observed engaging in a conversation, presumably on an unknown issue. It was evident that Jadeja was visibly displeased with Raina regarding something and showed disinterest in communicating with his teammate, despite Raina’s attempts to engage in conversation.
Subsequently, an incident occurred where Jadeja approached Raina in a fit of anger, engaging in an intense verbal confrontation. Fortunately, the situation was swiftly diffused by the remaining Indian players who intervened and helped restore a sense of calm.

In the match, Windies invited India to bat first. Kohli, in his captaincy debut, scored a century, supported by Dhawan’s 69. India posted 311-7 while rain interrupted Windies’ chase. They were all-out for 171 (34), losing by 102 runs. Jadeja took 2/44 despite Raina’s dropped catch. India then defeated Sri Lanka twice to win the tri-series. Dhoni returned for the final and his unbeaten 45 led India to victory.
Initially, the reason behind the clash between these typically easygoing and lighthearted individuals remained unclear. However, upon reviewing replays, it became apparent that the verbal altercation started from Jadeja’s frustration and display of anger following Raina’s unsuccessful attempt at a catch earlier in the game.
