We got another glimpse of his popularity when a fan intruded on the pitch during the warm-up game of India against Bangladesh and hugged the Indian skipper. The fan had to be escorted out of the ground by the security team.

The moment has taken over the internet as the Indian skipper showed compassion towards the fan and protected him from an unforgiving security team. It was the highlight of the match.

Heartwarming Moment

The incident happened during the start of the IND Vs BAN ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Warm Up Hame. The second inning had just started and Indian bowlers were getting in their groove.

A fan suddenly hopped the fans and ran towards Rohit Sharma. He hugged the Indian skipper and embraced him warmly. Rohit was reluctant but still, let the fan have his moment.
