Sachin Tendulkar dismissed for duck

This incident occurred during the 2008–2009 Ranji Trophy championship. Bhuvneshwar Kumar‘s remarkable feat garnered widespread attention, establishing his reputation as a bowler capable of excelling at the highest levels of the game. Subsequently, in 2012, he made his international debut and made an immediate impact by taking a wicket with his very first delivery in ODIs, marking the beginning of a successful cricketing career.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s historic achievement occurred during the 2008–09 Ranji Trophy season when he became the first player to dismiss Sachin Tendulkar for a duck. At the age of 19, Bhuvneshwar achieved this milestone by getting Tendulkar out for a duck in a championship match between Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai, with Shivakant Shukla taking the catch. Bhuvneshwar went on to describe his strategy and approach that led to dismissing the legendary Tendulkar, even though Mumbai ultimately won the game by 243 runs.

After the match, Bhuvi said, “But when it comes to Sachin’s wicket, then I would say I was lucky because the position where Sachin got out was neither short leg nor mid-wicket, so the credit goes to Mohammad Kaif who was my captain at that time. He set the field, and I just bowled an inswinger, and eventually, it happened.”
