Cricket Viral Video: A rare moment happened in 1999, during the fourth day of the first Test of the Asian Test Championship between India and Pakistan when a riot broke out at Kolkata's Eden Gardens stadium following the unforgettable dismissal of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. The authorities were forced to evacuate the stadium due to the violence.

What had actually happened on the field?

India's opening batsmen, Sadagoppan Ramesh and VVS Laxman, formed a robust foundation with a 108-run opening partnership while pursuing a target of 279 runs. However, the hosts lost wickets at frequent intervals and eventually succumbed to a 46-run loss. In the 43rd over, Sachin Tendulkar played a flick shot off a delivery from the legendary Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram. Initially, it appeared that the ball would reach the boundary, but substitute fielder Nadeem Khan made a timely stop.

The situation took a turn when Nadeem made a direct-hit at the non-striker's end, where Tendulkar was attempting to complete a third run. Tendulkar's attempt to make it to the crease was interrupted by a collision with Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, who was trying to provide back-up.

Although some Indian fans suspected Akhtar of intentionally obstructing Tendulkar, others anticipated that Pakistani captain Akram would withdraw the appeal. Tendulkar's dismissal for 9 runs from 13 balls infuriated fans, who began throwing various objects onto the field and disrupting play.

Following a one-hour suspension, play resumed only after Sachin Tendulkar arrived on the field accompanied by police and administrators to calm the irate fans. Play resumed successfully after Tendulkar's intervention. However, matters spiraled out of control once again, particularly after the Indian batsmen suffered a batting collapse, and the fans began to misbehave.

The police were compelled to evacuate the stadium once more, and the match resumed in front of a crowd of only 200 people, which was an uncommon occurrence at the Eden Gardens.
