During a cricket match between Sri Lanka and India, Rahul Dravid, known as 'The Wall,' experienced a unique caught-and-bowled dismissal by Sanath Jayasuriya. The incident took place in Colombo during a Test series opener, in which the home team went on to later score historic 952 runs in single innings.

Cricket Viral Video: Widely renowned as ‘The Wall,’ Rahul Dravid is known for his sheer display of batting. However, once, in an extraordinary incident, he was left off-guard completely with the caught & bowled by Sanath Jayasuriya.

Rahul Dravid stunned with the dismissal

A cricket match unfolds in Colombo between Sri Lanka and India. This marked the first clash of a two-game Test series. India’s lineup includes prominent names like Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar, and Anil Kumble. On the other side, the home team showcased emerging talents in the form of Mahela Jayawardene and Chaminda Vaas. However, it was Rahul Dravid and Sanath Jayasuriya, two other cricket legends, who took the limelight with one of the most peculiar dismissals ever witnessed in Test cricket.

At a score of 230-2 for India, and with Rahul ‘The Wall’ Dravid at 69 off 197 balls, Dravid opted to cut a delivery from Jayasuriya into the off-side. The shot was struck with full force, hitting Marvan Atapattu stationed at silly point. The ball then deflected back across the wicket, where a diving Jayasuriya managed to secure the catch.

Following this, India concluded their innings with a score of 537-8, only to witness Sri Lanka amass the record-breaking highest total in Test cricket history at 952-6. Jayasuriya was at the forefront, contributing a remarkable 340 runs in addition to his impressive figures of 3-45 in the first innings.

At one point, Sri Lanka reached an astonishing 615-1 while accumulating runs across 271 overs of batting. The Indian bowling unit, featuring Rajesh Chauhan, Anil Kumble, and Nilesh Kulkarni, bowled extensively, with each bowler sending down more than 70 overs.
