He stated, “That’s it. That’s another one. That’s a biggie! He loves that roof! He loves that roof. That’s three on the roof, three lost balls. That could’ve been called Ganguly’s roof.”
In the pursuit of a target of 197 by Zimbabwe under the leadership of Alistair Campbell, the Indian cricket team took to the field. As Tendulkar engaged in dismantling the Zimbabwean bowling attack, Ganguly assumed the role of offering stability and acting as the anchor for India’s chase. Even though Ganguly delivered a noteworthy performance of an unbeaten 63 from 90 balls, his contributions found themselves cast in the shadow of Tendulkar’s exceptional century – a match-winning 124 off 92 deliveries.
